May I take pictures or film in the library?
Answer
In order to respect the privacy of our students and to maintain the library as a place for quiet study, the Santiago Canyon College [SCC] Library does not allow photography, videotaping or filming.
In limited circumstances related to academic or institutional purposes, requests by SCC students, faculty, staff, administrators as well as Rancho Santiago Community College District personnel to photograph/videotape/film in the Library will be considered.
- A “Request to Photograph/Videotape/Film in the Library” form must be completed [click here for form]. Submit completed request form to the Dean of the Library, Fine and Performing Arts & Communication Division (Library L-105) during weekday office hours.
- Approved request must be obtained in advance of the actual “shoot” date.
Photography, videotaping or filming requests for new media purposes are handled through the SCC Public Affairs/Government Relations Office, A-213 (Telephone: 714-628-4745) which will notify the Dean of the Library of its decision.
